"For man, authority often means possession, power, dominion, success,” the Pontiff said. “For God, however, authority means service, humility, love.”
Well said! It reminds me of St Augustine's saying: "There is something in humility that strangely exalts the heart."
Starbucks announced officially that they will support gay marriages. The link can be found here: Lifesitenews. It distressed me greatly. I do not discriminate gays due to their sexuality orientation because of their pasts such like single families and abusive parents. It is clear that they are coping errors from the errors and continue to make more errors. Therefore, I prefer to support our Catholic Church's teachings on true marriage as they bear proper and full truths. Although it does not mean that if I patronize Starbucks, I support gay marriages, I do not like to see my pure love and addiction for coffee, being taken advantage for the wrong purpose. In addition, from Starbucks as backup, they would gain power to oppose the government and the Catholic Church. Neither do I want the gays to continue making more errors nor the world to take new steps to errors. T.S.Eliot wrote, "The last temptation is the greatest treason: to do the right deed for the wrong reason." It is time for me to leave Starbucks and go back to my old friend, regular coffeeshop who always gives me delicious aromatic 90 cents coffee.
If you are against my views, let me give you one quote from Saint John Chrysostom: "Eating and drinking don't make friendships - such friendship even robbers and murderers have. But if we are friends, if we truly care for one another, let's help one another spirituality.. Let's hinder those things that lead our friends away to hell."
I would rather sacrifice my favourite Caramel Macchiato and Green Tea Latte than to leave people making mistakes and going to hell.
